How entry works
Runners without a guaranteed spot apply to New York Road Runners' free non-guaranteed drawing, which for the 2026 race ran in February and was drawn separately for local, national and international pools. Guaranteed routes include NYRR time qualifiers, a short separate window for non-NYRR marathon qualifiers, 15-plus finishers, charity partners, international tour operators and the 9+1 program for NYRR members. From the 2027 program year, members must first win a 9+1 Pass drawing before they can pursue 9+1.
